This article is about the robot. For the original Kang Jieun Malvina's design is based on, see Kang Jieun.
Malvina, who goes by Kang Jieun (Hangul: 강지은) as a civilian, is an Amenrian superhero and fully sentient robot. Using a Soul Emulator called the Lionheart, she can incorporate technologies she encounters into herself as the main ability of her Soul Arsenal, Blue Fairy.
Design
Malvina appears as a Korean woman with a small, triangular face, full lips, double eyelids, and a wide nose with a high bridge. Her hair colour is a deep blue as an unintended and indirect result of the circumstances of her creation. She is of above average height and average build with a pear-shaped figure. Thanks to the Lionheart, Malvina has blue eyes.
Personality
As one would expect from a robot, Malvina is prone to act peculiarly and outside of social norms, such as breaking into her father's (and later, Aeon's) room. She uses precise and formal, if not technical, language to express herself as clear as possible, although this ironically has had the opposite effect in some occasions.

Realms of the Multiverse
Origins
Kang Seungjae lost his only daughter, Kang Jieun in the Interdimensional Incident in 2049. Overcome with grief, he turns to vaping in hopes of forgetting his loss. However, his addiction did nothing to mend his wounds. Knowing this, he turns to a dubious individual who gave him the Lionheart. Before putting it to use, he took a moment to mourn his family and visit their graves. He then resolved to bring back his daughter. To this end, he designed a new mechanical body identical to her last appearance in life. The next full moon, he inserted the Lionheart into an opening on her torso, bringing the robot to life and creating a new Jieun.
This new Jieun lived and stayed with him as his original daughter did, despite lacking the original's personality. A few days later, he took her shopping to a convenience store where he was injured by a villain and collapsed, but not before he could ask her to get help. Malvina instinctively ran towards the villain and saw him take down a local policeman and his partner. The same instincts, or rather, quirk in programming, urged her to reach towards the fallen officer's gun, absorbing it into herself. She would later use her powers for the first time to turn her fingers into gun barrels and fight the villain.
Despite her initial success, she was ultimately defeated. Before the villain could kill her, he was swiftly dispatched by Lumen and (placeholder), the former scolding her afterwards for trying to fight a villain herself.
Tactics
Malvina cannot equip ranged weapons. Instead, she can assimilate ranged weapons she finds on the field.
Origins: Malvina tutorial
Malvina's gameplay is unique in that she has no weapon proficiencies, but is able to use every ranged weapon by pressing the equip button near a ranged weapon, the same way other characters would pick up the weapon. All weapons obtained this way will be available throughout the campaign and accessible by tapping the weapon wheel on mobile or scrolling the mouse wheel on PC. This makes Malvina a versatile gun user that can be a decent substitute for Yoo Junghwa should the player not own the latter. Assimilated weapons do not carry over to other campaigns.
With few decent melee options including multi-hit and area effect basic attacks, Malvina is not as easily pressured as others sharing her Class. In addition, while her defence stat is mediocre, she has one of the highest defence stats in her Class with two resistances and an immunity to boot. Still, she is optimally used in a kiting role, especially given her agility stat.

Creation and Conception
RMD has always wanted to create characters with the members of Dreamcatcher as faceclaims, but had no idea what they would be like except for Siyeon's character. This changed when he decided that he wanted a blonde robot character named Elise played by JiU, but the idea was shelved.
After the Interdimensional Incident, RMD wanted to tell a story of loss and grief, and decided that a father would lose his child. This child ended up being Malvina, but she would not make her first appearance until her Origins campaign was released, where her name was changed. Her hair colour was subsequently changed as well to match her namesake.
Trivia
- Malvina shares her civilian name with a real-life Korean actress.
- Malvina's soul arsenal was inspired by the powers of Malware from the Ben 10 franchise.
- Malvina's creation was also inspired by Pinocchio from the titular story, Aigis from Persona 3, Alisa Bosconovitch from the Tekken franchise, and her namesake from Buratino, a Russian story by Aleksey Nikolayevich Tolstoy.
- Blue Fairy is one of the names her namesake is known by.
