Songfestival 1989 was the 29th edition of the annual Songfestival contest. It was held on 12 August 1989 in Dansig, Andlin following Marie Keier's victory for the country at the 1988 contest with the song "Randez-vous". The event marked the third time Andlin had hosted the contest. It was hosted by Ændlisk Fjernsyn (ÆF) and organised by the National Radio-Television Council (CNRT), and presented by Marie Keier.
16 countries participated in the contest, the most ever at the time. Port Anilis returned to the contest, having last participated in 1975, and Allaro debuted. North Alezia was also invited to participate in the contest as part of the Wide Open 1989 scheme, a cultural exchange programme between Carrelie and North Alezia. As part of the agreement, Marie Keier and Gruppe Hurrikan had taken part in the AleziRadio Festival of Songs 1989 for Carrelie, and the contest's winner, Nurhaima Isa Al-Hazairah, was invited to take part in Songfestival.
The competition was won by Sorechland's Natascha with her song "Ich werde immer da sein". It marked the fourth Sorech win overall, the nation having previously won the contest in 1959, 1969, and 1974. North Alezia placed second, with Arianos' Calie, winner of the 1987 contest, rounding out the top 3. Haufenburg saw their worst result to date, placing last with only 7 points.
