Hrotka is an island in the middle of Lake Kupalnitsa split roughly equally between Ostrozava and Drevstran, representing their only land border. It is the largest island in Lake Kupalnitsa. The Drevstranese half of the island is administered as XXX, while the Ostrozavan half is a special autonomous zone of the Subprime Republic of Valdavia. The largest city and Ostrozavan capital is Amgeșova, a Valdavian-majority city which serves as the Ostrozavan headquarters of the Angrast Accord.
Evidence of some habitation of Hrotka dates back millennia. During Antiquity, it became a Tervingian religious center dedicated to the goddess Frujo, it was abandoned during the empire's decline; an Alban hermitage was established in YEAR by mendicant preachers, serving as one of the first inroads of Nazarism into central and eastern Belisaria. The arrival of Lushyod pirates on the island in YEAR opened an era of trouble and violence, culminating with the establishment of a permanent Lushyod settlement and a treaty with the Laura. The island was conquered by the Duchy of Ostrozava in a prelude to the Emendatic Wars.
