Günther Roland Brecht (28 March 1899 - 6 April 1990) was a Besmenian politician who served as Prime Minister of Besmenia from 1956 to 1962 and as leader of the Besmenian People's Party from 1955 to 1964.
Brecht was part of the political resistance against the Ochsenbein regime in West Besmenia in the 1920s. He became international known when he swam across the southern bay from Zollingia to Trissia, which was a part of the Besmenian Border Zone at that time and was militarily guarded with ships, on the night of July 12 to July 13, 1928 and fled to East Besmenia. Since 1958 the bay where Brecht escaped to East Besmenia has the name Günther Brecht Bay.
