Equipment of the Sylvan Defense Forces
The military equipment of Sylvakia includes a wide array of arms, armored vehicles, artillery, missiles, planes, helicopters, and drones. Many of these are purchased overseas and many are indigenous designs. Until the Second Karpatyan War, the Sylvan principal suppliers were Lund and Ackesia; since then, it has been the Parthian government and defense companies. Much of the military equipment imported from overseas undergoes improvements in Sylvan workshops. In addition to weapons purchased overseas and indigenous products, Sylvakia also operates and maintains large stockpiles of Ackesian-made equipment captured from enemy armies during the course of the Larovan conflicts.
History
During the Karpatyan War, the military cooperation with Ackesia ceased and Sylvakia began to rely on Parthian weaponry and on local research and development. Over the next decade, the SDF increased its war fighting capabilities, aiming for technological superiority over other Larovan countries, toward "a smaller, smarter army".
The reliance on locally manufactured military equipment has also greatly increased. Today, the overwhelming majority of Sylvakia’s military equipment is either manufactured in Parth (and often modified in Sylvan workshops), or is developed and manufactured locally, with an increasing emphasis on advanced technology, including aerospace and electronics.
