In the administrative divisions of Kamany , the province (Ladino: provincia, polish: prowincja, dutch: provincie) is one of the three levels of government under the national level , between the regions and the municipalities. Kamany is composed of 32 provinces.
History
The first Kamanian provinces were proposed when the first constitution was implemented in 1848 to serve as military conscription areas. However the influence of local elites was still important and traditional cantons. In order to modernise its administrative organisation, districts replaced the former cantons. These districts were administered by civil servants appointed by the king of Kamany. The current Kamanian provinces were created during the State reform of 1923. Before the creation of regions in 1982, provinces were the only administrative division of Kamany with municipalities
