The Wars of Vines and Laurels

The Wars of Vines and Laurels were a series of devestating conflicts involving most of Caesena and Hellenos in the mid fifteenth century. The conflicts began as a struggle for control of the Consul's seat of Cartho between two powerful merchant families, but due to various political rivalries and the manipulations of Carcosa they soon expanded throughout Caesena.

Climate

The climate of Caesena is diverse, with the temperate fringes on the northern border transitioning into a traditional Solarian Climate for the southern coast of the nation. Mountainous highlands cross the north east border, and marshes are common in the southwest and around Cartho. The island of Cartho is also renowned for periodic volcanic activity and fertile volcanic soils. Rivers feed these wetlands, crossing from the Alpae mountains in the east and creating a riverlands region in historical Leccoma.
