The International Freedom Coalition (IFC) is an intergovernmental organisation and military alliance formed as a result of a merger between the International Freedom Alliance and the Western Coalition. The Alliance prides itself on being a beacon of freedom for the International Community and works with a multitude of different Alliance and Nations throughout the globe. Originally based in Musrum, Bratislav, its headquarters is now located in Kairaku, Kirishima.

History

The IFC has a long storied history, spanning numerous administrations throughout the years. Administrations have seen an expansion of the powers of the Prime Minister, as well as subtractions of the same aforementioned powers. It has finalized long-standing cold as with other offers and has forged friendships throughout the globe. The future looks bright for the IFC.

Pre-IFC

The first parent organization to the IFC, the Western Coalition, was founded on 1 June, 1937. The Western Coalition was founded to provide collective security for peace-loving and democratic states. The second parent organization, the International Freedom Alliance was founded on 1 November 2013 as an alliance of free nations to promote freedom and democracy. The merger occurred in 2014 after a joint conference between the two alliances in Musrum, Bratislav. The decision to merge had several reasons, primarily due to the compatibility between the Western Coalition and International Freedom Alliance, and because many of the democratic nation-states were in both alliances. Some international relations experts also believe that the timing of the merger was prompted by the consolidation of leftist alliances into the United Left (UL) and of rightist organizations into the Axis (under the Cebu Cooperation Pact), and soon after the establishment of the Santiago Anti-Communist Treaty Organisation (SACTO). After these slew of mergers, the world was left with three major alliances: the United Left, the International Freedom Coalition, and the Axis (later the Santiago Anti-Communist Treaty Organisation).

After his election, the Delegate from the Empire of Shazbotdom took over as the Prime Minister of the International Freedom Coalition. During his tenure, he shrank the size of the Executive Branch of the IFC and cut the budget so that the Executive could better work under the elective monetary donations from any member states that wished to donate money. His time in office was one of peace and on the 8th of January, 2018CE, he stepped down from his position and appointed the Delegation from Guadalupador as the Interim Prime Minister of the International Freedom Coalition.

Funding and budget

Funding

After the election of the Shazbotian Administration, the budget of the IFC's Executive Branch was slashed drastically with the reorganization of the government. Currently, the Shazbotdom Imperial Government supplies nearly 90% of the funding for the government. Other than the large percentage of funding given by the Shazbotdom Government, excess funding is done on a voluntary donation basis from within the membership.

Budget

The budget is simplistic for the sanity of the current and any future administrations. Each department can request increases with their budget, which the request will be looked over by the Minister of Economics and Treasuryas well as the Prime Minister and will either be approved as is, or edited and approved.

IFC Military Forces

Joint Military Readiness Initiative

After Council Resolutions #34 and #35 passed, under the direction of the IFC Council, the Rapid Reaction Force was officially dissolved and succeeded by the Joint Military Readiness Initiative (JMRI). This initiative was designed as a non-restrictive version of the Rapid Response Force, where individual member states have more flexibility on how its units are moved for IFC missions. JMRI is supported by Joint Military Readiness Facilities (JMRF), which are located strategically around IFC member states, with the Port Nakrev IFC Military Installation becoming the first JMRF.

The JMRI provides direct communication to military leaders through the JMRFs and direct channels. Some nations also have emergency communication routes with the JMRI, however, not all do as this is not required unless the member state hosts a JMRF. The JMRI acts as the center for multinational communication.

The JMRI central facility is located in the Port Nakrev JMRF. This facility is used for meetings amongst military leaders, as well as the central communication center between national armed forces.

The JMRFs are paid for by the IFC Government, however, the troops, equipment, and other things directly related to the armed forces are supplied and paid for by individual member states. This was designed so individual states have the ability to pull troops in the event of a substantial crisis, or creates a way for troops to be placed in an area in immediate danger of conflict.

International Freedom Coalition Peacekeeping Forces (IFC-PKF)

On 18 May 2022, the IFC passed Resolution 23a, the Joint Military Readiness Initiative Reform Act: International Freedom Coalition Peacekeeping Forces (IFC-PKF). This resolution reformed the command structure of the Joint Military Readiness Initiative by setting up the office of Commander-in-Chief of the IFC Peace Keeping Force, which replaced the office of "Supreme Allied Commander of the JMRI". Additionally, it changed the name of the IFC military from the Joint Military Readiness Initiative to the International Freedom Coalition Peacekeeping Forces.

The Commander-in-Chief represents the interests of the Coalition in military affairs. The position is elected by the Council of the International Freedom Coalition, with the Prime Minister permitted to having a tie-breaker vote in the event of a tie. The CIC of the IFC-PKF appoints their own officials of who are vetted and confirmed for duty by the IFC Council. Prospective Candidates for the Office of IFC-PKF Commander-In-Chief are interviewed and vetted by the Council in order to build a trustworthy relationship between the IFC and its member-states. It is also required that only nations who are fully committed to the IFC and have no commitments superseding that of those to the IFC shall be allowed to have a candidate for the CIC.

Equipment used to arm the IFC-PKF is purchased from a series of encouraged donations from new and existing members to purchase equipment for humanitarian missions, military, and other expenses. A discretionary fund made up of combination of donations and levies from the larger Coalition Fund was also established. This discretionary fund is allocated by the Prime Minister with advisement by the Council.

The Commander-In-Chief and the general staff allocates funds to purchase equipment to be issued to the IFC-PKF as they are under Coalition contract. This equipment will provide the IFC with standardized military equipment that will allow for seamless integration of member forces.

The IFC-PKF is made of volunteer forces of various member states. These forces are stationed in bases across member states and integrated fully, no segregated units will be encouraged. The recruitment will be preferential to former and active military members of member nations. Citizens that are up to the physical standards may be admitted to the IFC-PKF.

Engagements are provided to the IFC Council for careful consideration, and if they meet the standards set forth by the Council. the Council calls upon the CIC to order the IFC-PKF into service. The Rules of Engagement are written by the Commander-in-Chief and the general staff.

The CIC has the power to bypass the IFC Council to activate the IFC-PKF only in very special circumstances. Engagements considered "Emergency Actions" which are considered but not limited to: a Civil War within a Member-State, Mass Civil Disturbances within Member-States, an offensive conflict against a Member-State by a hostile force, response to a hostile act against the entirety of the Coalition, etc.

STANAG

With the passing of Resolution 23a and the establishment of the IFC-PKF, a STANAG for the IFC was established. The STANAG establishment went through three phases: STANAG suggestions by member nations, debate on what rounds to bring to trial, and trials. After the trials, the best rounds were selected for service. The light machine guns/squad automated weapons use the standard service round. The sub machine guns are chambered in either the pistol round or PDW round.

The 2014 Northeastern Zolevskoy Conflict, sometimes known as the 2014 Northeastern Zolevskoy Insurgency or 3rd Zolevskoyan Civil War, is a rebellion that took place from August 9th to September 18th, between Zolevskoyan government forces and Zolevskoy National Party Rebels, during the period of significantly intensified violence in Zolevskoy. Rebel forces attacked and took over the city of Serkala at the beginning of the conflict, and continued pushing on to Vybor. The ZNP declared the territory they captured as the Zolevskoy Federal Republic. Just after the siege of Serkala, rebel forces arrived at the city of Vybor. Some days later, the Fourtese Socialist Republic declared it's support for the rebels and began fighting against government forces, after several days of bombing rebel targets.
