Caribou is a Midrasian multinational sportswear manufacturer headquartered in the city of Almiaro. The company was founded in 1946 by Patrice Ganec as a manufacturer of hiking gear. The company's logo was originally taken from the caribou which is native to the Avadinian hills, a common hiking location in Midrasia. After several years in the industry, Ganec was persuaded by the owner of the football club FC Ibbené to move into the sportswear business, producing jerseys for the team. By 1958 Caribou was manufacturing more sports jerseys than hiking gear. By the late 1960s the company had moved into a number of other sports such as tennis and basketball. In 1973 the company produced its first trainers and football boots, marking its entrance into the footwear industry.
Today Caribou remains a major manufacturer of sportswear and is regarded as one of the foremost brands in the business along with Nasby, Ksecujeon, and Radix. Caribou supplies official jersey's to major teams such as Olympique de Lotrique, FC Ibbené, and the Midrasia national football team. Caribou also has deals with athletes such as Enzo Lazare, Simone Qualquart, and Nikódem Nesz who act as brand ambassadors for the company.
