Lincoln County is a county in the Ibican state of Hamilton. As of the 2020 Census, the population was 41,107. The county seat is Anselmo, which is the incorporated municipality.

Lincoln County is part of the Greater Underwood metro area.

Major highways

  • US 1.svgUS 27.svg Ibican Routes 1 and 27 concurrently serve the county on the way from their junction in Carter Ridge north to the state's largest city, Underwood, where they again split.
  • HA-16.png Hamilton State Highway 16 has its northern terminus in Anselmo, from here running south along the Bay of Albion coastline for over 300 miles before heading inland to cross the Kimball Peninsula, and crossing the Calahan state line.
  • I-5.svg Interstate 5 has a very short jaunt across the northwestern corner of the county, with exits in the county.

Government

The county government operates the jail, maintains rural roads, operates the major local courts, keeps files of deeds and mortgages, maintains vital records, administers public health regulations, and participates with the state in the provision of welfare and other social services. The county board of commissioners controls the budget but has only limited authority to make laws or ordinances.

The county operates three parks (and camp grounds) with beaches on local lakes, namely South Sound Park, Jen Lutton Park, and Anselmo Beach Park.
