Shinon, officially the Shinon Empire, is a nation in northeastern Asia. It is bordered by Shwon to the west, the Goby Uninhabitable Region (GUR) to the south, Sibra to the southeast, Hanga to the east, Dinmir to the north, and Gola to the northwest.
Shinon is a very conservative country strongly founded in tradition. Shinon is rated moderately in civil liberties and very low in political freedom. Gender divides are very strong, often to extreme extents, and enforced by law. Segregation is very common in business, education, and public events. Obedience is a strong virtue of the country, resulting in very rare instances of internal unrest and crime. The laws of Shinon consist of many from the Code of Hammurabi, revised for the Mandrin language and current society. Criticism of the royal family is prohibited and all political parties and organisations are banned. The Advisor for the People is the only elected government official in the country and is not protected from criticism.
The Shinon economy is based on gold, coal, and metalworks. Shinon is well known for its production of metal products, especially its luxury sector. Local Shinon metalworks businesses import metals from around the world and gold locally to produce traditional Shinonese jewellery and decorations, as well as contracted designs. In the past Shinon has experimented with non-traditional metalworks which have had varying levels of success. Shinon was contracted in 2894 to provide all decor for the Magelo Venus Space Hotel orbiting Venus, 2931 to for the Resort Forestale del Drago Orientale in Pardisio, and in 2958 for Von Hohok’s Oriental Courtesan Resort in Traxa.
