Theodore Lucian Edward Goodwin is a Satavian politician who has served as the 5th Premier of the Western Freestate since June 2020 as leader of the Western Freestate Country Party.
Goodwin was born in Port Arthur, Western Freestate the son of Lochie Goodwin, who was at the time serving as the Premier of the Western Freestate. Prior to being elected, Goodwin was educated at Springbank College completed two years of national service in the Satavian Army Medical Corps before being elected as an MLA in the Western Freestate Legislative Assembly for the Division of Skinner in January 2020. After Johannes Vermeulen announced his intention to step-down following the 2022 Western Freestate provincial election, Goodwin ran unopposed as leader of the Western Freestate Country Party, despite having only been an MLA for two months. Goodwin lead the party to victory in the election and was appointed Premier on 3 June 2020. Since becoming Premier, Goodwin has seen general popularity, polling at a high of 63% favourability and a low of 51%.
Goodwin is the son of former Premier and President Lochie Goodwin, who served as Premier for under 13 years from 1999 until 2012. Theo Goodwin's grandfather is Ryan Goodwin, who also served as Premier of the Western Freestate for 19 years until his death in office from 1980 until 1999.
