Nicholaus Alexandros Dimitrios, Duke of Mondria MSI (Born 22 September 1955) is a Belfrasian politician and nobleman currently serving as Consul of Belfras and leader of liberat populare pars since 2015 and 2005 respectively. He is the Duke of Mondria, the nation's second largest position of nobility behind the partially hereditary Lord Palatine for the Emperor. He entered the free democratic party in 1978 as the Senator for Patrinos' twelfth district and entered the Upper Senate as the Upper Senator for Patrinos in 1994.
Nicholaus was born on his family's estate in Patrinos, the capital of Mondria and the seat of his family's noble house. His father was Georgios Dimitrios III, the thirty-second Dimitrios to be the Duke of Mondria who also served as Consul in 1951 and saw the passing of the Western Statehood act in 1953. Nicholaus attended the elite Jason V Academy for his early education before moving on to the Mondria Campus of Excellence and eventually to Nuovo Portelli, the most prestigious law school in the country for his Juris Doctor. Whilst attending Nuovo Portelli he met his future wife, Beata Anicia, sister of the current Duke of Callatis and current Count Palatine.
With the assistance of his relatives and brother-in-law, Nicholaus ran and won in the 1977 elections for the twelfth district of Patrinos whilst still a student at Nuovo Portelli. He won the seat and began his term on 2 March 1978, two months after graduating the law school with honors.

Family and personal life
Whilst attending Nuovo Portelli, the country's most prestigious law school, he was introduced to Beata Anicia, the younger sister of George Anicius, who is both the Duke of Callatis and the current Count Palatine. After a twelve month courtship Nicholaus proposed to Beata during the annual flower festival and wed on January 19th of the following year. The couple settled into his father's estated in west Patrinos after he passed away a year after their marriage.
Their first children, twins Ellyse and Tobias were born in a private hospital in Mondria on 15 July 1981. After the pregnancy, Georgia moved to Thessalona to recover with her parents whilst the twins stayed with their father and nanny at their Patrinos estate. On 05 May 1985 their third child, Georgio, was born whilst the family were on holiday in Vannois. Georgia, Ellyse and Tobias returned home with Georgio following the birth whilst Dimitrios remained in Vannois a week further to settle business he had opened with a prospective business partner to open a new import/export pier in Mondria.
Ellyse and Tobias both attended the University of Mondria in their father's footsteps in 1996, with Tobias going on to follow his father's path through to Nuovo Portelli and enter politics in his father's old seat of Patrinos' twelfth district. Ellyse took a sportsmanship degree at Mondria and went on to enter Tennis as a professional player, winning the 2005 Thessalona Open at age 24. In 2008 she broke her knee during a match, an incident that would end her professional career as she never returned to full fitness. As of 2017 she acts as a manager for high profile Tennis players. Georgio entered the Imperial Naval College of Thessalona in 2003 and would go on to serve as an officer in the Federation Navy. Nicholaus and his wife welcomed their forth child, Christos in 1991. On 20 October 2014 Georgio and his wife were driving home and were struck and killed by a drunk driver just days prior to Dimitrios winning the elections to become Consul, with Georgio and his wife being buried the day following the election.

2016 Latium succession crisis
Following the death of Jason VI, Latin emperor and king of Belfras, Dimitrios led a minutes silence in the Upper Senate, lowered the flags to half-mast throughout the country, and made a special announcement the evening that the news broke. As the succession crisis began to grow, a special session was held in the Upper Senate to discuss the ascension to the Belfrasian throne. Dimitrios dismissed the claim of Prince Michael almost immediately, citing that in any situation that may have arisen from the other two, he was in no way entitled to the throne. The senate decided by the end of the session that documentation presented by George and purported to be a legitimisation of his claim was a mere acknowledgement that Jason VI had indeed sired him out of wedlock, an act that made him a 'bastard' in ascension terms - exempt from the throne or any special privileges from the Imperial Family altogether.
Following the conclusion of the special session to determine the rightful successor, Dimitrios dispatched a personal messenger to hand deliver a note to Constantine, expressing condolences for his father's death and acknowledging him as the rightful heir of both the Latin and Belfrasian thrones. Dimitrios ended his personal message stating that he had formed his cabinet and government at Jason VI's pleasure, and that as the rightful King of Belfras his government now serves as Constantine's pleasure. When factions began to form and the crisis escalated, Dimitrios ordered the Armed Forces to stand-by and dispatched the rapid response forces to stand-by at nearby Arthurista alongside a substantial naval force.
