The Battle of St. Andrew's Point was the last major naval battle of the War of the Magpie and the Dragon. Fought on 16 April 1618, it saw over three hundred warships of the Exponential and Cadenzan empires contest supremacy of the Scottopian Isles after four years of heavy fighting on and around the islands. The battle ended in a resounding Exponential victory as almost half the Cadenzan fleet was sunk or damaged. Eskamar I, the Cadenzan duke, was among the casualties when his ship Lamauha was destroyed.

The Cadenzans were severely disadvantaged by their numbers: the armada assembled under Exponential commander Octavius Benenatus had almost fifty ships more than the Cadenzan fleets. This was compounded by poor communication among the Cadenzan earls, as each of the four earls present commanded his ships independently of the nominal command held by Duke Eskamar.

Forces

The earldom of Lemithri, of which Duke Eskamar was earl, was involved in a feud with Roakkon at the time of the war, and the duke was unable to muster more than twelve ships. For the same reason, Earl Edund II of Ro'ekha brought just twenty-two ships. The Lemithran contribution was put under the command of Marno of Emigar, and Eskamar's flagship Lamauha sailed in the Emigaran fleet.
