The Line of Succession to the Atmoran Throne is determined by descent. Under common law, the Crown is inherited by a sovereign's children or by a childless sovereign's nearest collateral line.
Empress Henrietta II is the sovereign, and her heiress presumptive is her auntie, Queen Alyssa of Timeria. Next in line after her is Princess Alice of North Timeria and Atmora, the Empress' cousin. Third in line is Prince Theodore of North Timeria and Atmora, the Empress' cousin. Fourth in line is Princess Victoria, the Empress' third eldest daughter. Fifth in line is Prince Erik, the Empress' youngest child. Sixth in line is Queen Icelynn, the Empress' younger twin sister.
The first four individuals in the line of succession who are over 21, and the sovereign's consort, may be appointed Counsellors of State. Counsellors of State perform some of the sovereign's duties in the Atmoran Confederation while he or she is out of the country or temporarily incapacitated. Otherwise, individuals in the line of succession need not have specific legal or official roles.
Following the formation of the Atmoran Confederation in 1812, both the Parliaments of Atmora and Lieseltania introduced absolute primogeniture, mean that the eldest child of the monarch, regardless of gender, is the first in the line of succession. The change entered into force on 5 May 1813, making Lieseltania and Atmora the first country to adopt absolute primogeniture.

Current rules
Eligibility
According to the Act of Succession, only High Queen Darlene's legitimate descendants brought up in Atmora are presently entitled to succeed. A person loses his or her succession rights and deprives his or her descendants of their succession rights if he or she:
- is not brought up in the Atmoran Empire
- marries without the consent of the Sovereign
- ascends the throne of another state by election, inheritance or marriage without the consent of the monarch and the Imperial Parliament
Anyone ineligible to succeed is treated as if they were "dead". That individual's descendants are not also disqualified, unless they are personally ineligible.
Treason
Under the Treason Act 1812 and the Treason (Hasselt) Act 1703, it is treason to "endeavour to deprive or hinder any person who shall be the next in succession to the crown ... from succeeding ... to the imperial crown of this realm".
