William I Stonebridge is the current King of Aswick. Born as the second son, it was never expected of him to take the throne, but after an accident involving his father and older brother, he reluctantly became the King of Aswick.

Life

Early Life

William Stonebridge was born on the 15th of November, in the year 1988. He was the senior of twins. His father had just been crowned King of Aswick. The twins were baptized in Saint Arthur's Cathedral on the 20th of January. William's Godparents are the Duke and Duchess of Winchester, Richard and Jane Sharpe.

Military Service

After graduating from Secondary School, William attended the Royal Naval Academy. In two years he learned everything he had to, and then attended the Royal Air Force Flight Academy as a Midshipman. He learned to fly, and joined the crew of HMS Enterprise (Aswick) in September of 2008. The ship soon deployed, though. The Prince and his Squadron flew countless of sorties, dropping ordnance and fighting enemy air threats. For his actions, Sub-Lieutenant Stonebridge was meritoriously promoted to Lieutenant ahead of his peers and awarded the Meritorious Service Medal. Furthermore, his Squadron earned a Naval Meritorious Unit Citation.

Thrust into the role of King

On the 6th of June, 2010, King Marcus and Prince Rodney (Duke of Jamestown), were scheduled to arrive in the Caprican capital for a meeting with the President. Their plane never arrived, however. It had crashed somewhere over Caprica. Investigations later concluded that the plane had developed mechanical trouble that went unnoticed until it was too late.

Faced with the death of his father and his older brother, the Prince resigned his commission and reluctantly acceded to the throne.

Marriage

In 2011, the King of Aswick married the Trellinese Princess Nalaia. In a grand ceremony, the two were married in Saint Arthur's Cathedral. While the marriage was arranged obviously for political reasons, the pair learnt to love eachother in a relatively short time. In the autumn of 2014, it was announced that the Queen was pregnant. The child, named Alaric, was born on the 2nd of May, 2015. In 2016, they had a daughter named Madeline.

Titles and styles

King William has the following titles:

His Majesty, by the Grace of God, William Stonebridge the first, of Aswick, Scotia and Sandown and all His Dominions beyond the Seas, Protector of Winchester, Earl of Parrum, Count of Tyrsis, Lord High-Admiral, Defender of the faith.

  • His Majesty the King of Aswick
  • Protector of Winchester. A hereditary title conferred to the King of Aswick, due to the role of the Stonebridge family in the protection of the city shortly after its founding.
  • Earl of Parrum. A title in the peerage of Great Nortend conferred on a cadet branch after the House of Stonebridge fled from Aswick. Came into possession of the main branch after the Prince of Aswick married the Earldom's heir in 1902.
  • Count of Tyrsis. The ancestral title of the Stonebridge family in Aquitayne. Revoked in 1923 by the Aquitaynian Crown, but returned in the forties.
  • Lord High Admiral.
