The Imperial Sea Legion is the official navy for the Hellenic Empire and part of the Hellenic Armed Forces. The Sea Legion was formed in 1836 from the remnants of the Grand Fleet by Hadrian I. Its primary mission is protection of territorial waters and maritime infrastructure as well as sea lines of communication. Apart from this, the Navy participates in peacekeeping operations, and renders humanitarian assistance and disaster relief. They also participate in Anti-Piracy operations.

|Chimera Block IV ships with upgraded reactors and significantly increased noise deadening was released in 2012 and retrofitted to two Block 3 ships. As of 2015, the Naval High Command has expressed interest in replacing the Chimera class, which will serve until at least 2023. Funding from the cancellation of the St. Paul as well as interest from other nations in the ETPC has rumored to have started a new design program.
