History

Part of the Ghilzai tribe, the Khans emigrated to Ottoman Turkey after the Conquest of Constantinople wishing to serve the Ottoman Army as cavalrymen (Sipahis). They swore alleigiance to the Ottoman Empire and to recognise it as a caliphate. A member of this family was appointed Pasha of Sipahistan (the province that later became Sharifistan). When Sharifistani independence was declared in 1922 Sultan Mehmet I of Sharifistan was chosen from this family. After this point they have been ruling Sharifistan till 2020 and plan to re-gain their power.
