Camp Devon (Italian language: Campo Devon), commonly referred to as Devon, is a military base operated by Halland on the territory of the Assimas Parish in Imagua and the Assimas. Established as a base in 1968 to help strengthen the presence of Hallandic Arucian Command on the Assimas Islands, it is operated by the Commonwealth Marines.
The Sotirian Democratic Labour Party (Italian language: Partito laburista democratico sotiriano di Imagua e Assime) is one of the two major political parties in Imagua and the Assimas, with the other being the Democratic Labour Party.

It is today bordered to the east by the municipality of Mennone, to the south by Mosconi, to the west by Rosso, and to the north by Chiumento.
Established in 1997 following the merger of the National Labour Party with the Sotirian Democratic Party, the Sotirian Democratic Labour Party became the primary centre-right politics party in the country.

Origins
Origins
Prior to the construction of Camp Devon, it was part of the four municipalities of Mennone, Mosconi, Rosso, and Chiumento, with the general area being very much rural throughout recorded history.
The Sotirian Democratic Labour Party is comprised of a merger of the National Labour Party, and the Sotirian Democratic Party.

After the Tripartite Agreement was signed between the governments of Estmere, Halland, and Imagua and the Assimas, Halland expressed an interest in opening bases outside Mordred Naval Base. Thus, in 1958, Imagua and Halland signed an agreement, which allowed Halland to operate bases across the rest of the country, in exchange for Imagua paying the costs to construct the bases and other military facilities.
The Sotirian Democratic Party was the oldest political party in Imagua and the Assimas, being established in 1892. While historically forming government for 44 of the 68 years between the granting of self-government to the Colony of Imagua in 1892 until 1960, as the dominance of Eucleo-Imaguans waned, so too did the Sotirian Democratic Party.

Construction
The National Labour Party was established in 1978, following a split in the Democratic Labour Party led by Travis Marshall, who perceived Pietro Muro's leadership as being too radical. Quickly establishing itself as a centre-right party, the National Labour Party supplanted the Sotirian Democratic Party as the main opposition party by 1984.
After the agreement was ratified by both states, the Imaguan government expropriated the land that would make up Camp Devon in 1960, compensating the owners of the expropriated lands with 5,000 shillings (in 2020 shillings, 403,980ſ57, or €53,672.95). The following year, construction began on Camp Devon.

Over the next seven years, Imaguan construction workers constructed the buildings and associated infrastructure required for the Commonwealth Marines to operate from Camp Devon. As per the 1958 agreement signed between Halland and Imagua and the Assimas, Imagua paid the costs to build the base, in addition to smaller installations scattered across the archipelago. During the process of construction, 82 people lost their lives.

Concerns in the Hallandic Parliament and from NGOs have been raised regarding the labour rights of the civilian contractors for Camp Devon. The locally sourced contractor companies that provide the base with cooking, medical and other secondary services are subject to Imaguan labour law, and thus companies who have received these contracts have taken advantage of it to cut costs. Many workers, which are often of native Imaguan origin, work for salaries severely below average when compared to the same function in Halland or even other Hallandic military bases abroad.
