LakkathaLakkatha, officially the Marine State of lakkatha, is a country in north-western Anteria. The Lakkathan people are a distant slavic seafaring peoples, they arrived on the islands around 1300 years ago on boats, and are currently one a big regional naval power. They are neighbors (as far as island nations are concidered) with Wolfgalia, Hadian, and even Lethia. Lakkatha is close allies with Ateenia, and the NADA (as it is one of the founding memebers).. Lakkatha is the #1 producer of Wampum, and Wampum jewelry in Anteria.

Ethymology

The name Lakkatha (IPA: /lakata/) comes from the old word for the place given by the old lakkathans which was "lakkathiha" (IPA: /lakʰaθixa/), the exact meaning isnt known, but it's assumed it means something similar to "land of the Lakka", the Lakka being one of the old lakkalic gods.

Demographic chart of Lakkatha (2018)

  Lakkathan (64%)
  Sivuk (16%)
  Ilanean (10%)
  Dajdan (6%)
  Other (4%)

Most people in the country indentifie under the Lakkathan, which causes some contreversy due to nationalistic pride in the pure lakkathans against half lakkathans.

Sivuk and Ilanean settlers remain from brief colonisation by Neuewland and Ilanean people, Mostly living in the west and north. The largest sivuk population lives around the Idalland and Kûtserland areas, the largest Ilanean population lives around the Lunila and Arnuak areas.

The Other category mainly cinsists from Arsyans, various other asians, and some otehr slavic, germanic and romance people. Even tho historically Arsya and the Lakkathan settles (which were once bordering each other) havent had good relation, with exeption, like the Ătuhăbi people (whom are a small comunity of Lakkathan decended people who still live in a province in norh-eastern Gabrielland) who tought the arsyans the Kononomic script (nowadays used by the Ătuhăbi, the Kononome, and in some cases by the Arsyan people), but otherwise the Arsyans are the reason why the Lakkathans had to move again, going north and settling where they are now. The current Gabreilland - Lakkatha relationship is much much better, with people from arsya moving to Lakkatha and vise-versa.

The Dajden people are a mix between Lakkathan and sivuk people who live in the inland areas of the west, they speak a very distinct "dialect" mix of the lakkathan and sivuk languages.

Culture

The culture of Lakkatha is its distinc Lakkatho-Slavic branch, similar to (irl) southeastern slavs, they are quite germanic and arsyan influanced in some traditions. wip
