Diamnean drug laws are some of the strictest in the Verdean Archipelago with only a handful of recreational drugs remaining legal, mostly for medicinal purposes. In spite of this, the Septonate has approached drug use issues from a medical perspective and generally seeks to treat those addicted to drugs rather than prosecute them.

Laws passed by the Doradan government have been some of the laxest in Greater Meridon regarding narcotics. However, in areas controlled by the ethnonationalists, drug use is very restricted, and many caught with narcotics are executed by the Doradan rebels.

Federal laws in the Lesser Verdean Confederacy are relatively lax, but most legislative powers in the Confederacy are relegated to the islands that make up the nation. Generally speaking though, the rules on Isla Zafiro are the strictest and the rules on Isla Lapis are the laxest.

Platan drug laws are some of the most restrictive with the archipelago. This is due the ruling party's desire to reduce access to substances that "serve to district the people from their work", and as a result most drugs are limited to medicinal use only, and those that aren't have strict limitations on use.

Verdean drug laws exist primarily to protect the people from the most harmful substances, but otherwise remain as loose as possible. Most Verdean drug laws generally place limitations on age, amount purchasable, as well as safety regulations to ensure the purity of the product. The bulk of these regulations were encompassed by the Verdean Controlled Substances Act of DI 197.
