The S.11 Peregrine is an attack bomber in service with the the Imperial & Federal Navy and Imperial & Federal Aerospace Troops, intended to provide precision attack capability against targets located within gravity wells. The Peregrine is specifically designed to strike targets inaccessible to other forms of attack, due to either the precision needed, or the heavy defences of the target in question. The S.11 design has also spawned several later developments, such as the S.11D Kestral, which is optimised for close air support of ground troops. Developed originally as a second generation strike craft by the aerospace wing of the Aichi zaibatsu group, the S.11 provides a strong platform for a wide variety of missions for strike against atmospheric or other surface targets that might be difficult to strike with standard strike craft. However, the S.11 was designed prior to the widespread adoption of the micro-scale warp drives, and its FTL capability has been retrofitted in later, leaving it a rather slow and short-ranged craft while travelling FTL.
