Early life and education
Born into an upper-middle class family in Durham, her father, Mark Shields II, was a police officer in the Durham Constabulary and her mother, Mary Shields (nee Smith) is a headteacher.
She is a descendent of British senior Jamaican Constabulary Force officer Mark Shields.
Later, the family moved to Stroud, Gloucestershire, for their daughter’s education. She attended Alderman Knight School from the age of eleven and left it’s sixth form at the age of 20.
She studied Biology at Exeter University, graduating with a first class degree, before doing a PHD in Forensic Science at the Henry C. Lee College of Criminal Justice and Forensic Sciences.
Career
She practised forensic science privately for years until joining the National Military Police of Al-Khilafah in 2115. She is a First Lieutenant in this force whose scientific work has lead to the apprehension of 115 murderers, 113 rapists, 105. child molesters and 15 traitors.
Personal life
Helen Shields-Khan was married to Grand Imam Sikandar Khan (who she met online) till his death in 2121 and has one daughter (Hurriyah Bint Sikandar Khan).
She is an Anglican Christian.
