The National Democratic Union, often called NDU, Nat Dems or the National Democrats, is a centre-right to right-wing political party in Ascion. It is the largest party in the country in both membership and seats, and is the current ruling party.
The NDU primarily competes with rival Progressive Party. The NDU opposes left-wing movements as well as monarchist movements emerged from relation with Amenria in favor of republicanism and Asia-Pacific nationalism. The current chairman is Manuel D. Agapito. The NDU traces it origins to multiple parties existed before the third world war, such as Republican Party in the United States, Liberal Democratic Party in Japan and Kuomintang in Taiwan.
First entering government in 2043, the party is the largest in the congress and leads a coalition government with the Christian Democratic Party since the latest election in 2047. The party houses a wide variety of opinions on right-wing ideals, often resulting in the party being referred to as a big tent.
