Marie-Agathe (Marie-Agathe Sophie Louise Élisabeth Claude; born 5 May 1990) is Queen of Autelia. She has reigned since 15 February 2015.
Marie-Agathe was born the eldest child of Alexander IV of Autelia and his wife Princess Marina of Schaumburg-Lippe. At the time of her birth, she was second in line to the Autelian throne, behind her father. The reigning monarch of the time was her grandmother, Queen Marie-Claude.
Following her grandmother's abdication in 2013 and her father's accession, Marie-Agathe became Crown Princess of Autelia and increased her duties and presence in representing the nation at official state functions. When her father unexpectedly died just under two years after coming to the throne, Marie-Agathe became Queen at twenty-four years old.
In 2012, Marie-Agathe married her longtime boyfriend, Duke Philipp of Württemberg. The couple have four children- Alexander, Félix, Charlotte and Cécilie.
Early life
Princess Marie-Agathe Sophie Louise Élisabeth Claude of Autelia was born on 5 May 1990 at the Royal National Hospital (Hôpital National et Royal) in Santerre, Autelia's capital city. She was born in the 38th year of her grandmother's reign.
Her father, Crown Prince Alexander, was the eldest son and heir of Marie-Claude of Autelia. Her mother, Crown Princess Marie, was the daughter of Prince Ernst of Schaumburg-Lippe and Princess Helena of Greece and Denmark.
She was christened on 17 June 1990 at the Royal Chapel in Santerre Palace, by Cardinal Jean-Pierre Delfont. Her godparents were her aunt Princess Katharina of Schaumburg-Lippe, her grandmother Queen Marie-Claude, her grand-uncle Prince Michael of Greece and Denmark, and her cousin Prince Edward of the United Kingdom.
Education and career
Marie-Agathe was privately educated at a convent school on the outskirts of Santerre. Upon leaving her secondary education, she moved to Berlin, to study economics at the Humboldt University of Berlin. She graduated with her BA in 2011. In the autumn of 2011, the Princess began an internship at the national parliament, working with senior government ministers to better understand how their offices worked.
In 2012, Princess Marie-Agathe began working for the royal family full-time, taking on a roster of public duties and engagements. Many of her engagements in the beginning were carried out alongside her mother and aunts.
Marriage and children
Princess Marie-Agathe of Autelia first met Duke Philipp of Württemberg in 2004, when they were both enrolled in a summer camp for schoolkids at the same time. After this, they maintained an on-off correspondence. Their lives collided again in 2008 when they both ended up as students at the Humboldt University of Berlin. Over a short few months, the two got to know each other again and began a relationship.
On 27 August 2011, it was announced by the palace that Princess Marie-Agathe and Duke Philipp were engaged to be wed the following year in Santerre. Philipp purchased for Marie-Agathe a Cartier diamond engagement ring.
The couple were married on 6 January 2012 in a ceremony at the Cathédral de Saint-Seigneur de Santerre. The Princess was attended by eight bridesmaids, including her two sisters, Princess Désirée and Princess Amélie. Following the wedding, Marie-Agathe's official title was Her Royal Highness Duchess Philipp of Wurttemberg.
Marie-Agathe and Philipp have four children:
- Alexander, Crown Prince of Autelia (Alexander Philipp George Sébastien; born 16 November 2012)
- Prince Félix of Autelia (Félix Christopher Frederick Henry; born 21 April 2014)

- Princess Armelle of Autelia (Armelle Marie-Cécilie Éliane Katharina; born 7 June 2017)
