The '''Ankat People's Army''' (APA) (Terasi: අන්කට් මහජන හමුදාව, tr; Ankaṭ Mahajana Hamudāva (AMH)) is the ground force of the military and makes up approximately half of the Armed Forces' total manpower.

The Ankat People's Army reported an active troop strength of around 320,000 in 2018 although due to conscription and a heavy reserve force, this number is expected to be much higher. Due to the unreported combat the military has undergone with insurgents to the north, the army has acquired extensive combat experience with conducting non-stop counter-insurgency operations with royalist or religious fanatical factions since the end of the revolution in 1974.

The Ankat Armed Forces (AAF; Terasi: අන්කට් සන්නද්ධ හමුදා tr; Ankaṭ Sannaddha Hamudā; ASH) is the military force of the Socialist Republic of Ankat. The AFF consists of three service branches: The Ankat People's Army, Ankat People's Air Force, and the Ankat People's Navy. Since it's creation during the Ankati Revolution, the AAF have been under the control of the President of the Socialist Republic, which as of May 2021 was Suneshka Iriyagolla.

The flag of the AAF is a red flag with the Bhagyavatun Vahanse on the top left similar to the national flag. The general AAF flag has no additions, but the branches have two solid stripes on the bottom of the flag in varying colours depending on their branch; The Army utilise the same gold as already seen on the flag, while the Navy utilise blue and the air force use green.

During the Ankati Revolution the AAF went by the name of the Socialist Army (Terasi: සමාජවාදී හමුදාව; tr Samājavādī Hamudāva). The Socialist Army was one of the major combatants in the civil war, initially working with others before becoming powerful enough to be the largest faction alongside the Torists. It was formally retitled as the Ankat Armed Forces shortly after the capture of Nilagne Naegima at the end of the war.
