Since her appointment, she has been praised for her actions in deepening ties between Kouralia and Malgrave, as important milestones such as Kurton-Cerne rail connection and the partial sale of MalDef have been completed under her tenure.

Early Life and Career

Kate Smullen was born in Rensk (then still part of the Socialist Republic) and so was one of the first local citizens that enrolled in the Gabriel Narutowicz Pioneers as part of efforts to integrate the recently disbanded Monika Chmiel Pioneers.

In the midst of the Lost Decade, Kate Smullen was noted as a member of the Free Democratic Youth and praised for taking a leading role in efforts designed to alleviate the hardship that Rensk was suffering due to economic hardship, with the FDY newspaper praising her commitment to the principles of social solidarity.

Near the end of the Lost Decade, Kate started a degree in ancestorism, history and politics at Royal Karlino University, and quickly became involved in student politics as a member of the Universities Student Council and the National Union of Students. In 2000 Kate formed part of efforts to welcome international students to Malgrave, with her efforts being recognised by the reformed Ministry of Foreign Affairs which invited her to join a new program designed to form a new base for local diplomatic talent.

After a small break due to her conscription in the Territorial Defence Force Kate accepted a position at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as part of the recently policy research team led by Seo Yi-kyung. Eventually, her work resulted in the release of Notes on the Establishment and Strengthening of Diplomatic Relations between the United Kingdom of Malgrave and the Mystrian Populace and assorted Policy Recommendations) or NESDRUKMMPPR for short, a paper which forms the basis of current Malgravean foreign policy.

Ambassador to Kouralia

In 2010 Lucio Gatti, the first Ambassador to Kouralia announced his retirement due to poor health and a process was soon launched to find his replacement. After a short selection period, Kate Smullen was officially appointed as Ambassador to the Crown Union of Kouralia and transferred to Kurton.

Since her appointment, Kate has overseen the construction of a number of infrastructure projects designed to increase connectivity between the Kouralian mainland and the Research Colony and has given her official recommendations on a variety of issues such as the construction of JFB Progress Hill and the partial sale of MalDef to KAE Systems.
