Hosted by DJ Brud of [[Midtvid]] fame where he breaks out the extensive KUS Record archive and plays songs he finds personally and historically influential and significant. between these are segments where he talks about the history and story of electronic music in Lyngaard and Arcadia. periodically he will also do a segment where he plays a song and then breaks down and plays the songs it samples.

Generally with the average set running around 10 to 15 minutes. The show is hosted by David Tilly and Johan Aggerholm. The show has been noted as an important stepping stone in the careers of many artists including [[Stacy Albrecht]], [[Yi]], and [[Discotek Mafia]] among others. Video of the sets is usually streamed on the official Radio 3 Viewtube channel.

The Essential Mix Set has consistently been the most popular late night program since its first airing.

KUS Radio 3 is a Lynsk national radio station owned and operated by the KUS. It specializes in contemporary Electronic Music, hip hop, and R&B and is a sister station to KUS Radio 1. KUS Radio 3 is targeted for the 15-29 year old demographic. Broadcasting music that would not fit the Top 40 format of KUS Radio 1. It also host a veriaty of specialized broaadcasts during night hours. Most notably KSU Essential Mix on Saturdays, Local Takeover on Thurdays, and the Decompression Chamber Set on Mondays.

Radio 3 broadcasts throughout Lyngaard and much of North East Arcadia FM between 92.8 MHz and 96.2 MHz, Digital Radio, Digital TV, and KUS International. It was launched in 1989 to compete with private broadcasters, meant to target the age 15 to 29 demographic, and offer a high quality, alternative listening experiance. Radio 3 averages 8.9 million listeners weekly with a listener share of 10.2% as of December 2022.
