Democratic Besmenia (Besmenian: Demokratisches Besmenien); DB, was a liberal and conservative-liberal political movement and political party in Besmenia active between 1966 and 1974. DB was first founded as a political movement on July 1, 1966 in West Besmenia during the democratization process. At the party conference on September 5, 1966 in Helmfurt, the DB was officially founded as a political party.
After Besmenian reunification, the DB was the only party from the former West Besmenian parliament that did not merged to an East Besmenian political party. and ran from 1967 to 1973 in elections to the Federal Chamber and in elections to the regional state legislatures.
The DB experienced a crisis in the early 1970s and failed to re-enter parliament in any elections from 1971 onwards. In 1973 the party entered into a cooperation with the Free Besmenian Citizen's Party before the DB completely merged into the FBBP in February 1974.
