Fichmani Foods was founded in 1937 as a state run enterprise to feed the growing urban population after the establishment of the Republic. The company quickly became bloated, corrupt and ineffective and was sold to a private firm in 1941. The Private firm was owned 100% owned by Fredrick Arnold, brother to President John Arnold
