Alexander Yevgenievich Nuriyev (Seredyan: Александр Евгеньевич Нуриев, tr. Aleksandr Yevgen'yevich Nuriyev; b. 3 August 1980) is a Seredinian politician and the great-great-grandnephew of Seredinian author, poet, and Civil War survivor Countess Svetlana Sergeyevna Nuriyeva. He is currently the Deputy Minister for Defence, serving in the government of Nadezhda Vyrubova since 2015. Nuriyev has previously served as Deputy Minister for the Interior, as well as Shadow Minister for Communities and Local Government, and he is a member of the influential Committee on Parliamentary Standards in the Zemsky Sobor. Nuriyev has reportedly been considered a "trusted minister" by Ispolnitel Nadezhda Vyrubova, and was appointed as Deputy Minister of Defence to help "clean up the ministry" after the sack and arrest of former Defence Minister Denis Samsonov as part of the 2018 Seredinian Cash for Influence scandal.

Alexander Yevgenievich, who would be titled Vlastelin (or Count) due to his family's noble origins, is considered a centrist within the Social Democrats, and thus a major internal ally of the incumbent Ispolnitel. Born in Krasnoye Selo on 3 August, 1980, to now-former Deputy and one-time Minister for the Interior Yevgeny Nikitovich Nuriyev and his wife Anna Petrovna, Alexander Yevgenievich was initially engaged in various private schools before being enrolled in a public gymnasium at age 11. Exposed to politics at an early age, Alexander was a member of the Young Socialists before joining the Socialist Student Front while attending President Maxim I. Golubev University of 1897 in 2000, writing a variety of articles for SDP paper Krasnaya Zvezda. Graduating from Golubev University in 2001, Alexander Yevgenievich would be accepted to the State University of Zolodolina Faculty of Law the next year, and earn his specialist-in-law degree in 2005.

That same year of 2005, Alexander Yevgenievich would be asked to run on the SDP's Central Federal District list for the Zemsky Sobor; he would be placed relatively highly on the list, and appointed to the Sobor that May. Alexander would quickly join elements of government, first becoming a voting member of the Petitions Committee before earning appointment to the Committee on Parliamentary Standards and the SDP Whip. After the ascension of close ally Nadezhda Vyrubova to the party leadership in 2013, Alexander was quickly appointed to her first and only Shadow Cabinet, serving as Shadow Minister for Communities and Local Government before and during the 2015 election. He would be one of the SDP's main three negotiators in forming the SDP-Liberal Republican coalition agreement. Alexander would join the government as Deputy Minister for the Interior, and official attendee at Cabinet meetings, after the SDP's electoral victory in 2015. His work in the Interior ministry, where he was said to have a reputation as a "genuine workhorse" and "effective deal-maker", led to his appointment as Deputy Defence Minister in 2018.

Alongside current Minister for Business, Innovation and Skills Yelizaveta Rossovskaya, Nuriyev has been tapped as a likely future Foreign or Interior secretary in the past, though it is now assumed that he will take over as Defence Minister should the SDP win the 2020 election. Alexander Yevgenievich is married to fellow deputy and backbencher Avdotia Vasilievna Nuriyeva; the two met during committee postings in 2010 after Avdotia Vasilievna joined the Sobor, and were married in 2013. They have two daughters, Svetlana (b. 2014) and Praskovya (b. 2017).
