The current emperor (Shinasthana: 今上, krjem-′djang′; b. Mar. 3, 1983, r. Dec. 4, 2016) is the reigning monarch of Themiclesia. He came to the throne at the death of his predecessor, Emperor L′jabh-tsung, who is his great-grandfather. L′jabh-tsung, who lived to be 100, was preceded by his heir, Prince Hruh-′an, and by whose heir, the current emperor's father, Prince Hruh-′ei. He was acclaimed and crowned by the House of Lords and Privy Council on Dec. 11, 2016 the seventh day of L′jabh-tsung's death.

Having come to the throne, the current emperor has instituted a number of progressive policies at court and for the royal family. The most significant reform is the reduction of the size of the royal family and thus public money spent on their upkeep; this would permit distant royalty to be gainfully employed, without the government's permission. As of Jan. 1, 2019, all royals except the immediate family (descendants of L′jabh-tsung) have been allowed to enter the civil service and armed forces.
