The Stridsvagn 81 is a heavy tank developed by Landsverk AB in the 1930s for the Acrean Armed Forces. It was first conceived as the Acrean military observed events ongoing in the Siduri War, and the eventual need for a heavier frontline vehicle became clear by 1935. The existing Strv 51 and Strv 71, while moderately armoured and well-armed for the time, would not stand up to the ever increasing armaments and armour that were being fielded by combatants in the Siduri conflict.
