History
The Military Academy was founded on July 18 1880 by Meliton Abamelek, a former Cavalry Officer serving in the Narodyn Army. Originally named the “Military Academy of the Cavalry in Tsivebi.” The academy was founded as part of an attempt to provide education to many young Vedmedi Lideri who were recruited into the Narodyn Military in effective cavalry leadership. Later reformed in 1902 to the Military Academy of Tsivebi, expanding the curriculum of the school from that of cavalry tactics to incorporate the different branches of the Narodyn Army. Following the conclusion of the Sostava War and the independence of Vedmed, the academy was reformed into its modern structure in 1989.
