Joint Operations Command, Solaris, often abbreviated to JOC, Solaris, is a joint Royal Navy-Royal Air Fleet base that occupies the island of Solaris in Shalum. The base was originally an installation that served corvettes and frigates of the Imperial Shalumite Navy and was operated by the ISN between 1984 and 2019. The ISN facilities located on the island were later handed over to Cacerta in the aftermath of the Arzell Crisis as part of an ongoing expansion of bilateral relations; the base became fully-operational in April 2019.
The original facilities were heavily expanded between February and April 2019; these improvements included the construction of two runways, structures to house aircraft, as well as new docks to accommodate the larger vessels of the CRN. On-base housing was also greatly expanded, allowing family members of service women and servicemen to stay on Solaris. As a base jointly operated by the Royal Navy and the Royal Air Fleet, it is home to two newly established forward-deployed formations of the Cacertian military—the CRN Solaris Fleet and the CRAF Solaris Air Fleet.
