Tupawasi (Kaya simi pronunciation: [tʊpæ'wæsɪ]) is the capital city of Kayahallpa. It is located on the ancient seabed of Lake Thakhsikala in the Qullqaquyllur highlands of central inland Kayahallpa. It has an urban population of 3,754,238 and is the center of the Tupawasi Metropolitan Area, has an estimated 5.1 million residents. It is one of the highest-altitude cities in the world and is built around the site of the Tupawasi Palace Complex, one of the world's largest buildings and the official residence of the Sapa Inka and Kayahallpan royal family.
The city has been the nexus of two major empires, the Warisuyu Empire and the current Musuq Kayamucha.
