After this she went into law, becoming the district attorney of Zhukovgrad in 2012. In 2016 Duma member Karl Ledovskoy declined to run for re-election and Agapova won his seat. Agapova attended Adrikagorod University, widely considered the best in the Slavic Union, and graduated in 2005 with a PhD in political science, going into law afterwards.

In 2016 Duma member Karl Ledovskoy declined to run for re-election and Agapova ran for the empty seat, Agapova was privately opposed to the Slavic Union Party (PSS), but joined the party as membership was required to run for office. In August 2021 a heatwave hit the Slavic Union, and Agapova wrote the Slavic Environmental Act, which managed to pass the Duma despite the legislatures past opposition to environmental bills of any kind. Despite this the bill was vetoed by Vozhd Matvei Pavlov, this veto lead to the mass protests, the governments violent reaction to these protests leading to the August Revolution (Slavic Union), which overthrew the autocratic system and instituted democracy.

In September 2021 she announced her candidacy for president and formed the Green Union. In the first round of the presidential election she finished in 2nd with 26.1% of the vote, in round 2 she finished with 50.6% and won the election.
