Tsarevich Nicholas Ivanov, (Nicholas Alexis Danil Rhomaios-Troadinos Ivanov) is the second eldest son of Alexis V of Velikoslavia and Theodora, Grand Princess of Mesogeia and second in line to inherit the Sapphire Throne. He was born in June of 2010 and is two years younger than his elder brother, Paul. Nicholas is styled as the Count of Alborg, inheriting the title at birth.
Early Life
Birth
In November of 2009, the Velinov Court Press announced that Tsaritsa Theodora was to give birth a second time. The gender of the baby was not announced and would not be until Nicholas was born. Theodora moved to the Cedar Palace in May of 2010 where she would stay until the baby was born. Because of the the system of absolute primogeniture, the baby would be second in line for the throne regardless of gender.
Nicholas was born in 2010 in Fjalnir, Velikoslavia at the Cedar Palace at 15:47 under the care of the court physician and team of midwives. It was announced his god parents were xx and XX and he was dedicated at the Aldur Monestary near the palace three days after birth per tradition. He was formally announced as second in line to the throne after his dedication. His grandparents, Constantine, Despot of Morea and Sophia, Despotissa of Morea from his mother's side and Frederica of Silingia from his father's side were all present for his birth. At four weeks old, he was moved to Velinov Palace in the Grand Apartment.
Adolescents and Education
Nicholas was first presented to the public when he was eight months old at a public dedication ceremony which allowed the public to get their first look at the new Tsarevich. His mother took him to Mesogeia soon after where he stayed for three weeks and was presented to his extended family and the Mesogeian people. Nicholas spent the remainder of his early years in the Velinov Palace before attending the Gilded Academy for Boys starting at age seven, where he presently attends school.
Official appearances
Nicholas began to officially appear at most state functions at age 11. Prior to this, he would make an official yearly appearance in Mesogeia during Christmas celebrations and stood next to his father during many official ceremonies. He spoke to the press for the first time by himself at age 11, answering a couple of light questions as he was being dropped off for a concert he was attending.
Personal Life
Nicholas is known to be a very socially well adjusted and talented child, fitting easily into court life at young age. He has often been compared more favorably with his brother, Paul, who is far less a socialite than his brother. Nicholas has also shown to be a driven child and the sibling rivalry between the two is very well known. He is known to be well liked by Grand Prince August, Prime Minister and known member of the conservative aristocratic faction. Nicholas has recently been participating in more court functions, appearing at the most recent Harvest Festival celebration and the annual Velinov Christmas Eve gala.
