The 1987 Frankenburgian state election took place in the Besmenian state of Frankenburg on June 14, 1987.

Background

A social-liberal coalition of FBBP and SDU has governed Frankenburg since 1981. After losing the 1981 election and the subsequent transition to opposition, the BVP voted out Ulf Engelbert as chairman in 1981. His successor and candidate for 1987 was Heinrich Lenzer.

Electoral system

The election to the State Chamber of Frankenburg is decided according to proportional representation. The electoral threshold is 5%. The legislative period is five years.
