The letter 'F' stands for fighter.

- F18 Asór, carrier-capable multiple-role fighter aircraft

The letter 'J' stands for juggernaut, and is usually assigned to attack aircraft. In recent years the emergence of convertiplanes has blurred the distinctions between these and helicopters, though when in doubt, J will almost always be assigned.
