Tom the Devil 2 (Besmenian title: Tom der Teufel 2), is a 2024 Besmenian action slapstick black comedy anthology film directed by Martin Wildner. The film is based of the Tom Teufel Comics by Viktor Laffmeyer and the sequel to the 2004 film Tom the Devil by Helmut Rommel. The film is the third film based on the comic series after Tom the Devil (2004) and the animated The Tom Teufel Movie (2019).

Plot

The film consists of five independent stories, all of which star Franz Waldmitz as the protagonist: Tom Teufel, a 2000 years old devil. The stories take place before the events in the first fil mand are retold by Tom himself as narrator.

A Real Witch (1704)

The witch protests took place in Vorlost in 1704, which led to the burning of witches. After the death of the witch hunter Albrecht, Tom becomes Vorlost's new witch hunter, even though he doesn't believe in witches himself. Some time later, a young woman named Hildegund Buttstädt appears in Vorlost, who is interested in Tom. Shortly afterwards, a love affair begins between the two. On the third date, Tom accidentally discovers Hildegund lighting a fire in the fireplace with her fingers. Shortly afterwards, Tom tries to kill her. A fight breaks out between the two, where Hildegund uses her powers to turn Tom's house into a nightmare house to drive him crazy and kill him. She mentions to Tom that she is the head witch and wanted to try to get control over him because he is the witch hunter. Finally, Tom manages to throw Hildegund into his oven, whereupon she burns and dies. Shortly afterwards, Pastor Ferdinand and the mayor of Vorlost Adelbert come to Tom's house. When Tom wants to tell about Hildegund, the pastor and mayor say that the "alleged head witch" had just been burned in the market square, and Tom is no longer a witch hunter, since with the death of the head witch there are no longer any witches.

The Cannibal of Vorlost (1875)

Tom has been in a relationship with VB, a woman from TT, for some time. Tom wants to get a gift for their 6 month anniversary, but has no money. Tom then goes to a cemetery at night and digs up the dead in the hope of finding a diament ring. He notices a long-haired, decrepit man who is eating a human arm and quickly runs away after being noticed by Tom. Tom wants to tell the town about the cannibal. However, the residents of Vorlost think he is a crazy person and the mayor even threatens to send him to a mental asylum if he doesn't give up. His girlfriend VB believes him.

On a heavily snowing evening, both of them want to catch the cannibal. VB is kidnapped by the cannibal in a very high mountain. Tom, armed with a shotgun, hears VB's screams on the mountain and calls the police from a phone booth. Shortly afterwards, Tom goes up the mountain, where he discovers VB's dead body in a cave. Shortly afterwards he is attacked by the cannibal. After a fight, the cannibal slips because of the snow and falls 286m into the depths, where he dies, but his body is no longer visible because of the snowstorm. When Tom wants to bring VB's dead body to safety, the police arrive and arrest Tom because they believe he is the murderer. Tom is then sent to the Insane asylum for Hopeless Cases. Tom, as the narrator of the story, says that he only got out because an inmate set the mental asylum on fire in 1893.

Tom and a Alien Against West Besmenia (1951)

Tom lives in the Besmenian Empire in 1951 and constantly tries to escape across the Inner Besmenian border to East Besmenia using various means, which in many cases degenerate into the bizarre and absurd. One night after another failed escape attempt, Tom notices something crashing in the forest and discovers a crashed spaceship with an alien named Zoppy. Tom gives Zoppy protection and promises to help him repair his spaceship. One obstacle is Tom's current girlfriend Gudrun, who isn't allowed to find out because she can't keep anything to herself and is always curious. While Tom and Zoppy are working on the spaceship at Tom's home, they increasingly come under espionage and surveillance by the State Security of Besmenia and soon have to move to an abandoned house outside the city. After the repairs are finished, Gudrun comes by and is accidentally hit by Tom and becomes unconscious.

After Zoppy flew away again in his spaceship, forces from the State Security of Besmenia and the West Besmenian police arrive and want the alien. Tom, who is afraid of the West Besmenian government, dumps buckets of paint on the unconscious Gudrun to make her look like an alien and ties threads on her. Shortly afterwards, Tom Gudrun parades in front of the house like a puppet to make the SSB and police officers believe that an alien is talking to them. Meanwhile, Gudrun wakes up and starts screaming, which the SSB and police see as an attack and shoot her. Tom is frightened and runs away.

Tom Goes to Laitstadt (1966)

After the West Besmenian Revolution and the opening of the Inner Besmenian border, Tom decides to move to Laitstadt in East Besmenia. Once in Laitstadt, misfortunes continue to happen to Tom, from the theft of his suitcase and money to a misunderstanding with the East Besmenian Prime Minister Johannes Schmidt, until in the end he feels half dead. He realizes that the "foreign" city is not for him and goes back to Vorlost.

Local Dumb Ass Impregnates 19-Year-Old Farmer’s Daughter (1992, 2003)

Production

A sequel to Tom the Devil was already under discussion in 2005 and many of the actors showed interest in the project. With the death of Helmut Rommel in the summer of 2007, the project was put on hold prematurely. In March 2022 it was first reported that a sequel to Tom the Devil would be released.
