Filippo Barone (born January 21st, 1954) is a former member of the Chamber of Representatives who served as Leader of the Conservative Action Party from 1995 to 2006.

Early life and career

Filippo Barone was born in Pakosc on the 21st of January, 1954. Filippo had a rather standard childhood for the period, as he attended numerous events organised by the Gabriel Narutowicz Pioneers designed to support the war effort and was noted for his passionate support for the Territorial Defence Force, although, this normalcy came to an abrupt end when the city was attacked by the National Workers' Republic.

Filippo spent two years within Pakosc as an internal refugee before being able to escape the city, with the family being relocated to the far more peaceful city of Omsk for the duration of the battle. After returning to Pakosc, Filippo became an incredibly active member of the Free Democratic Youth (Malgrave), although, historic records at the time indicate that his main priority was securing additional weapons and support for the Territorial Defence Force and he had minimal presence in the other charitable outlets of the organisation.

In 1972 Filippo passed his university entrance exams and started studying economics at Royal Epping University. Filippo was noted for his academic excellence, and latter rumours began to circulate that he had greatly assisted Harold Griffin as the pair became close friends during this time period, and the pair even joined the Conservative Action Party in the same year.

After leaving university Filippo found employment with MalDef.

MalDef

With his noted academic performance and his history of military fundraising, Filippo was quickly hired by MalDef and put within the accountancy department of the company. Filippo was tasked with reducing waste within the company and tracking down misuse of funds, a high priority for the company after corrupt dealings had been found by Adalbert Kaczmarek.

MalDef instituted several internal reforms which improved transparency, with the aim of preventing future incidents and make independent oversights of the inner workings of the company easier.

Leader of the Conservative Action Party

Filippo resigned from MalDef to run for the Conservative Action Party in the 1990 Malgravean General Election and soon find himself being appointed Minister of Finance by Alicja Kowalska, the newly elected Prime Minister. In this role, Filippo was tasked with privatising MalTec and MalMart, however, the declining state of the economy combined with unpopulr efforts to weaken trade unions resulted in large strikes being organised by the Most Illustrious Glorious Confederation of Proud Malgravean Proletarians (MIGCPMP) which caused this plans to be indefinitely delayed.

In 1994 Filippo was nearly killed, as he was seriously wonded in the 1994 Karlino Central Station Bombing. In the aftermath, the Royal Malgravean Times speculated that Filippo could replace Alicja Kowalska as leader of the Conservative Action Party, however, this didn't come to pass and she was replaced by Andrzej Pasternack instead.

After the the disastrous 1994 Malgravean Emergency General Election, the Conservative Action Party found itself in need of a new leader. Filippo originally did not intended to contest this, however, after recieving support from several senior members of the party opted to due so and was elected with popular support.

In the 2000 Malgravean General Election Filippo and the Conservative Action Party were able to subvert expectations by retaining the same level of support in the Chamber of Representatives, although, the following 2005 Malgravean General Election was less successful for the Conservative Action Party who found themselves losing close to a hundred seats.

Filippo resigned shortly after and was replaced by Harold Griffin.
