The 1st Ostric regional election occurred on 10 August 1986. The first elections to the regional Dorada, the social democratic and unionist Social Democratic Radical Party gained the most in the popular vote, winning six seats and forming a coalition government with the liberal and unionist Modern Centre Party.
Background
The administrative reforms of 1 January 1986 created the Free State of Ostry, and by consequence the first Ostric legislature in the form of the Dorada. In the first election campaign, focus was placed on the unionist parties, who claimed responsibility for devolution.
Electoral system
The electorate elects all fifteen members of the Dorada using single non-transferable vote in one island-wide multi-member constituency.

After the election, Remigiùsz Woss was tasked by Otto XII with forming a governing majority. Woss was able to form a "social-liberal" agreement with the PMZ, creating an unionist and centrist majority in the Dorada. The Ostric People's Party, in contrast, solidified itself as the main separatist opposition to the government.
