The Organization of Latin States (Latin: Latine Civitatibus Instituendis, often abbreviated as LCI) is an international organization comprised of Latin speaking nations, and mostly former territories of the Latin Empire. Its purpose is to promote intergovernmental cooperation among its members and aids in the planning and development of regional projects in education, science, technology and the arts. In 1950, the LCI members signed a secondary treaty regarding intelligence. The LCI secretariat is based in Alexandria, the former capital of Latium at the time of the organizations founding, and maintains regional offices in Belfras and Fakolana. The organization is formally led by Latin Emperor Constantine XX.
