The Satrian Section of the Workers' International (SSWI) (Samundrese: कर्मी इंटरनेशनल का सैट्रियन सेक्शन, Karmī Īntaraneshanal kā Saṭrīyan Seknā), commonly known as the Satrian Section, Arthani Section, or the Workers' Party, is the founding and governing party of the Socialist Republic of Arthadesh. The party claims to be the legitimate Section for Satria rather than its Ajahadyan counterpart, which is recognized by the Congress of the Workers' International and the Association for International Socialism.
The Satrian Section originates from a 1934 split over practical differences in the original Satrian Section of the Workers' International between the Ajahadyan and Arthani factions. Nevertheless, the party cooperated with them and other other anti-colonial movements to achieve independence for Satria. During the Solarian War, the party's armed wing the National Liberation Army, later reorganized into the Army of the Socialist Revolution, fought against Etruria forces, before it secured Arthadesh's independence in 1946 as the Satrian Commandery. It would rule the Commandery until its reorganisation into the Socialist Republic in 1967, and then continued to rule into the present day.
The SSWI is officially organized on the basis of council democracy where each party body elects the next-highest body and the delegate model of representation where representatives must vote as their constituents wish. The central body of the party is the National Congress, which meets annually to determine party policy and elect party officials. When the National Congress is not in session, daily duties and responsibilities are vested within the Central Council, which consists of the party's leadership. While it functions as a collective body that rules by consensus, it is the First Secretary who is ostensibly responsible for civilian party duties, but is in effect the head of state of Arthadesh.
The party is committed to socialism and continues to participate in the Congress of the Workers' International. According to the party constitution, the SSWI follows the principle of People's socialism, which combines Athani culture, Council socialism, Left-wing nationalism, and market based ideals into an ideology that the party claims can guide the country to socialism. It importantly claims that Arthadesh has not yet achieved socialism and is in the process of building the basis for a future socialist system.
The Satrian Section maintains near absolute power over the country, dominating federal, state, and local politics across the country. The party uses a combination of party-driven mass mobilization, the co-option of opposition movements, and repression to hold power. If these measures were not enough the party resorted to electoral fraud, such in the 1995, 2007, and 2015 elections. These elections featured protests and riots which were met by violent repression by the state. Since the 1990s, the party has loosened state control and other restrictions over the economy, as the country grew closer to Senria.
