The Ōkami-class guided missile destroyer, known to the Engleans as the Hurrikan IV-class guided missile destroyer, is a class guided missile destroyers constructed for the United States of the Tao Navy and the Kaiserliche-Marine. The class serves as a pillar of the modern USTN and KM fleets. Constructed mainly in the 1990s, these ships were largely considered to be revolutionary for their time, and many experts consider them comparable to many of the ships other nations are producing today.

Development

In 1983 the UST was preparing and planning the process of a major fleet overhaul. One of the largest projects which needed to be looked into was the next generation of destroyers. It is unknown exactly when the Engleans got involved, but during the process, large portions of the next generation ship design program became a collaborative effort between the UST and the Englean Kaiserreich.

Ōkami-class destroyers are powered by four Yotota Heavy Industries gas turbines giving them a top speed of 30 knots (56 km/h; 35 mph).
