General Henry Willoughby ODS is a Delamarian Army officer currently serving as Chief of the Defence Staff of the Delamarian Armed Forces since his appointment in March of 2020. He also served as Chief of the Army Staff from 2016 to 2020 and Commander of Delamarian Forces overseas.
Early Life and Education
Willoughby was born on December 10th, 1960 to Brigadier-General Malcolm Willoughby and Janet Parks at Bodmonton-Highclere Army Base in Bodmonton, Radnor, the youngest of four children. His father Malcolm fought in the First Argic War and nearly died when his transport was shot down, he also held several high ranking positions within the Landstadt Building, including the Director for Army Logistics during the Second Argic War. When Henry was 12 he attended the Sandborough School in Providence, and at 18 attended the Eastminster Army College.
Military career
Willoughby was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in 1981, having earned a degree in War studies from the Army College. In 1982 Willoughby was deployed to Lanada as a part of Operation Firecracker. Willoughby arrived in Lanada on July 15th and assisted in taking control of several small military installations in the north of the island. Little resistance was met by Delamarian forces in that area however fighting did break out between Willoughby's unit and Lanadian forces retreating to Kanara. One Delamarian was killed and three were injured including Willoughby, having been shot in the thigh. Willoughby would reside in Hartana military hospital for the remainder of the conflict.
