Vitus of Ottonia is a South Ottonian royal, and is the heir apparent to Rodrik I of Ottonia, first-in-line to become the next Storkeneg of Ottonia.
Characteristics & Description
Vitus is a tall, well-built young man, standing at 194 cm (6'4"), with a muscular, athletic build. He is blue-eyed and black of hair, and is noted for his strong, square jaw and handsome features. He has an air of charisma, although his is not an especially forceful personality.
He is cited by peers and family as having a gregarious personality, with some hedonistic tendencies, tempered by an appreciation for the responsibilities of his post and standing as the heir to the Staalmarker throne.
Early Life
Vitus was born in the royal capital of San Mikel to Prince Rodrik and his wife, Ava. Vitus was the couple's first child (although by no means their last), and became heir apparent to Crown Prince Rodrik.
His early schooling occurred in San Mikel, part of a small class of the children of the South Ottonian elite tutored by private instructors. At the age of 13, Vitus, along with most of his peers, was sent to the Vylfhuld Academy in the Staalmarker town of Vylfhuld, a private boarding school for the South Ottonian upper crust.
Secondary Education
In May of 2010, Vitus' paternal grandmother, Adelhaed was diagnosed with terminal cancer. As a result, Adelhaed abdicated the Ottonian throne in June of 2010, resulting in Vitus' father Rodrik being crowned Storkeneg on the 10th of that month. This, in turn, made Vitus the heir to the throne at the age of 17.
During this time, Vitus' teachers reported a renewed focus and seriousness in his attention to his studies; where before Vitus had been an unremarkable student, now, the Sproek Prince's grades were in the upper echelons in his class (although he was still not the most gifted pupil even in his own year). It was clear, however, that Vitus' studies were not his only focus. Athletically, Vitus tried his hand at both lacrosse and gridiron football, although he was discouraged from the latter by his family and he switched to association football after a single year.
The Crown Prince was also noteworthy during his teenaged years for a level of charm and charisma that manifested around the time of his elevation to the position of Crown Prince. As a confident, handsome, athletic young man, he allegedly was quite popular with his classmates, especially the female ones.
Vitus graduated from the Vylfhuld Academy in 2008, ranked 12th in his class of 88 people, with a place assured him at the Royal University of Staalburg.
Higher Education
Starting in the fall of 2008, Vitus began attending the Royal University of Staalburg in Staalburg, studying History, International Relations, and Public Administration. He was given a residence near the University's campus, paid for by the royal family, to help provide adequate security for the heir to the Staalmarker throne.
Driven by his father's wishes and his feeling of duty to be a well-prepared heir, his focus on his studies remained strong, if not as tight as in his primary and secondary education. Still, Vitus graduated in with a triple-major in five years, never failed a class (or received a grade lower than a "C", or "Average"). By spring of 2013, he had completed his undergraduate education, and had resumed his place with his family.
During his time at the University, Vitus began a long-term romantic relationship with Lyna Godwyn-Faramund, a member of the powerful House of Godwyn-Faramund, a fellow Vylfhuld Academy alumnus, and childhood friend. The couple began dating in November of 2008, and the relationship lasted throughout their collegiate education, prompting speculation that the two might wed upon graduation.

Personal Life
Due to his prominence in the royal family of South Ottonia, Vitus' personal life has frequently been fodder for tabloids and royal-watchers.
In 2014, Vitus met Arietta of Ghant at a court event. The two allegedly spent the night together at their first meeting, and they began courting shortly afterward. Vitus proposed marriage to the Ghantish Princess Imperial at the 2015 Midsummer Ball, and the couple wed the following June.
