Mêrxas, Shahzadeh of Iotopha (Iotophan: Մêրխաս Արդեսհիր; b. 1 August 1944) is the current Head of the House of Hazaraspid. Though disputed, he is considered the primary claimant to the defunct throne of the Shahdom of Iotopha under the name Mêrxas VIII. Mêrxas is a successful businessman, and founder of the Hazaraspid Group, which has grown into a large real estate and development company. Despite this, he has continued to assert his claim as the legitimate ruler of Iotopha, but has stated that "it is not a priority at this time.
