Zayyaan al-Akhtar (born 17 November 1945) is an Zalluabedian politician who served as the President of Zalluabed from 2 February 2017 to 10 June 2023. He took over the power from former President Abdelaziz Melkabaar and was succeeded by Husani Antar. Previously, he was Defense Minister of Zalluabed from February 2013 to February of 2017.
Early life and education
Al-Akhtar was born on 17 November 1945 in Zakaraban, Zalluabed. He graduated from the Zalluabed University of Administration in 1965.

Al-Akhtar was elected president on 2 February 2017 following the 2017 Zalluabed presidential election, after taking 58% of the votes, against candidates from both main parties (the New National Party and the Liberal League Party). As President, one of his first acts was abolishing discrimination clauses in housing applications in Zalluabed.
In November of 2020, Al-Akhtar came to an agreement with Drambenburg to allow the Drambenburgian military to establish multiple bases within the country in exchange for protection and economic incentives.
He was reelected to a second term on 2 February, 2021.
